Since its foundation in 1974, Hotel Nelo has been part of many stories.
We saw Jaraguá do Sul’s evolution. The building where we are still located today, was the first four-floors building in town. We accompanied Jaraguá do Sul’s growth to all directions: vertical, economic and demographic. We received with open arms workers, tourists, students and entire families who came to visit or live here. More than that: we did not only follow the city’s development: we also took part in it.

Initially, our headquarters were built to meet the demand for shops and offices in the city. When the construction was concluded in the year 1973, there was an accounting office where our reception is today and the first floor there were several shops. However, Hotel Nelo’s story Hotel Nelo began when a need emerged: Jaraguá do Sul was preparing to host the 1980 Open Games, but it did not have enough hotel rooms to host the authorities who would come for the opening ceremony. Therefore, the two upper floors of the building were chosen to serve as a hotel.
Since then, we have been adapting ourselves and the infrastructure to better serve our guests. At that time, Jaraguá do Sul prospered quickly and soon there was a need for enlargement of the Hotel. For that reason, in 1983 the second building was built with 36 more apartments.

For the past 40 years, we have seen many things evolve. We have followed many changes and acquired knowledge and experience that only living with so many people could provide. With this, we found that to work with hospitality, it takes more than competence: you must like to receive people. Perhaps that is why we are today the oldest operating hotel in the city – because we care so much to welcome everyone.
